The deceased woman’s family has released her name following an announcement from the Niagara Falls Police Department earlier today that they would wait until all of the family had been notified.

Her name is Lynnann and her family has started a GoFundMe page for her funeral expenses.

We will provide further updates as they become available.

  1. Tired of this says:

I don’t get this. The girl had drug problems. She lived a life that she knew wasn’t right. Her family lost her but now they think throwing a big, flashy funeral will somehow make it all right? Come on. Take the medicaid money, have a modest funeral and focus on raising her child so he doesn’t make the same life choices. “Honoring” his mother for being a drug addict? Having a splashy funeral is going to teach him that her lifestyle was OK because look what it gets you — limos, flowers, lots of attention, etc. People, pay for your own funerals and if you can’t afford a $10,000 wake/funeral don’t do it. Live within your means.

  2. Kathleen Clark says:

I agree…support the living. I have life insurance…but desire to be created asap following my death. And when the time is right that my family meet for a meal and know that I will be there with them. Honor family by preparing for death so they don’t have to go through the trauma of a funeral and the decisions involved. Been there done that…and it’s the most painful thing I have ever gone through.

  3. Even a modest funeral can cost upwards of $6,000+

My mother’s modest funeral (1 day viewing followed by cremation) cost $16,000.
