Obama Says His Unilateral Gun-Control Actions ‘Are Entirely Consistent With 2nd Amendment’

(CNSNews.com) – President Barack Obama said on Monday that the measures he intends to take to curb gun ownership among those he does not believe should own guns “are entirely consistent with the Second Amendment and people’s lawful right to bear arms.”

The Second Amendment says: “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”

“We’ve been very careful recognizing that, although we have a strong tradition of gun ownership in this country, that even those who possess firearms for hunting, for self-protection, and for other legitimate reasons, want to make sure that the wrong people don’t have them for the wrong reasons,” said Obama.
